Phumeza Nkonjwa is a 29-year-old from Thembisa, Johannesburg. She is the middle child among her three siblings, with two older sisters. When Phumeza and her siblings were kids, their family did not have much, but they were fortunate enough to have a kind stepfather who took them in and treated them as his own.
In her early years, Phumeza had to get creative to make ends meet, resorting to selling candies at school to afford her school lunch. She attended Crown Mines Primary School and completed her high school education at Qoqa Secondary School.
Currently, Phumeza is part of a learnership program called Agriprenuresh, and through this learnership, she has discovered her passion for agriculture, specifically in the art of extracting and processing juices from vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
Her ultimate dream is to travel and study abroad, aspiring to achieve something unprecedented in her background. She aims to inspire future generations, emphasizing the belief that anything is possible when one believes in their dreams and in themselves. Phumeza’s goal is to complete her studies abroad, become a successful businesswoman, and establish a name for herself, ultimately contributing to building a better future.
As a change-maker, Phumeza embraces the spirit of Ubuntu and advocates for mutual support for the betterment of the world. With a strong desire to teach young children about the importance of agriculture and fundamental aspects of human life, she recognizes that a lack of knowledge in these areas contributes to global challenges. Preserving traditions and individual identities is crucial, and Phumeza believes that spreading awareness and sharing knowledge can contribute to achieving this goal.
