Idah, is a 45-year-old married woman and mother. She was previously involved in a project that provided tent and chair rentals, as well as catering services. Unfortunately, some of the women who helped maintain the project passed away, leaving only three members to keep it running. Eventually, Idah was the only one left and decided to explore other projects.
That’s when she began a new project, aimed at identifying disabled children in her community who were in need of assistance. Her goal was to help these children feel included in their community and let them know that they are not alone. With time, Idah has mobilized other women to join her in helping disabled children in their community.
Although the organization is still in its early stages and lacks resources, the local municipality and mayor have expressed interest in helping where possible. They have provided a space for Idah and her team to operate from, but financial assistance is still needed to establish a permanent shelter. For now, the group is utilizing school grounds to continue their mission of helping disabled individuals.
Idah believes that planting a tree now will not only benefit her but also future generations. It is her dream to bring about positive change.
