Catherine Banda
Catherine Banda is a changemaker based in Mzuzu, Malawi. She is deeply passionate about her village, Tukombo, and her country, Malawi. Catherine is an advocate for women’s rights and is willing to volunteer her time for any cause that promotes equality, justice, and humanity. She describes herself as a proud “Village Girl.”
With the help of generous donors, Catherine has been able to assist her community in various ways. She has distributed food parcels to needy families, paid school fees for students, constructed a new nursery classroom, provided clothes to the less fortunate, and renovated the Traditional Authority’s office and Village Court. Catherine is dedicated to changing the narrative of Africa and village life.
Currently, Catherine is leading a project to plant trees in Tukombo as part of her “Road to Afforestation” initiative. She is also a motivational speaker, writer, poet, and a former radio presenter on 1873 FM in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has lived and worked in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and currently resides in Malawi.
