At She Evolves we use the power of storytelling to amplify the voices of Black African women raising awareness about our life experiences. We believe our stories have the power to unite, to inspire and to transform lives.
Participating in the project is entirely voluntary. Our team works alongside you to facilitate the change you want to see in your community. We believe that when women come together, amazing things can happen. This is a platform for you to share your voice and connect with other women who share your passion to transform your community.

Through our 1000 Stories, 100,000 Trees initiative, we’re bringing women together to share their stories and plant trees – igniting a movement of positive change within each community. By sharing our stories and planting trees, we light the pathway for change and sow the seeds of a legacy that will grow with you throughout the years.

We want to provide a platform for you to share your voice and connect with other women who share your passion.
We want to engage with women like you who know that the power of change is in our hands and that we are stronger when we work together.
How does it work?
- Fill out the application form on the website and submit.
- The 1000 Stories, 100,000 Trees Project team will review your application.
- If your application meets the criteria, there will be an online conversation over WhatsApp to get to know each other and discuss the next steps.
- We will send you an event pack outlining the steps for you to take to host a successful event.
- We will connect you to our local partners who will assist you with choosing appropriate trees, digging holes, delivery of trees and/or seedlings for the planting day.
- Through our WhatsApp Family other Change Makers in your area will provide guidance and support.
- You will gather women from your community to participate and host the event. It is encouraged to take photos to document the transformation of the environment through your planting efforts.
- You will receive a certificate of recognition for your contribution to the project, and the participating women will receive certificates of participation.
- Your story will be recorded and shared with the global community through She Evolves' social media platforms.
- As a member of the She Evolves family, you will have access to a WhatsApp group where you can share your successes, challenges, and gather any necessary information.

Passion
Be motivated, passionate, and committed to transforming your community and environment.
Leadership
Willing to take the lead and be the change you want to see in your community.
Community-driven
Passionate about an issue that you want to share with other women in your community.
What We Provide
- Guidance and support throughout the process with weekly conversations via WhatsApp.
- Indigenous saplings (small trees), fruit trees and/or seedlings if you are starting a food garden.
- Support and information on planting and maintaining the trees and food garden.
- Event Pack Storytelling Guide to assist you for your successful event.
- We share your story with our global community on SheEvolves.world and also our social media platforms.
- Inclusion in the Change Maker Family WhatsApp Group for sharing successes, challenges, and connecting with like-minded women.
- Membership to the Tree of Life Network, showcasing your environmental impact on your local community.
- Opportunities to win prizes supporting your individual needs as a successful change maker.
What We Require
- Good Communication, Commitment, Motivation, and Passion.
- Locating a suitable site for planting trees and/or a food garden.
- Hosting a storytelling and tree planting gathering with women from your community.
- Taking responsibility for caring for the planted trees and food garden.
- Monthly submission of photos of the planted trees for the first year, which will be shared on the website with other Change Makers.
- Offer guidance to the next Change Maker.
