Elizabeth Mkhondwane
Elizabeth Mkhondwane is a resident of Orange Farm. She was born on June 4, 1972, at Baragwanath Hospital. She was the second child in her family and had four siblings, three of whom have passed away. Elizabeth took on significant responsibilities from a young age, including cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry for her siblings. Despite the challenges, she got married at the age of 17 to secure a somewhat better future.
Elizabeth attended school up to grade 5 and subsequently worked at a bakery and as a nanny. Recently, she participated in an advertisement for H&M, representing women with children with disabilities together with her daughter Sibongile and her son Simphiwe, whom she cherishes dearly. Elizabeth is currently involved in a gardening business and a clothing business, reflecting her love for gardening and her belief in finding peace in it.
As a devout follower of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Elizabeth is known for her extroverted nature and her roles as a changemaker, defender, advocate, hard worker, and protector. She is deeply engaged in agriculture and provides reused clothing to her community to ensure access to healthy and affordable food. Furthermore, Elizabeth helps families access high-quality clothing at affordable prices, leveraging her personal experiences of financial challenges. She is a woman who finds a way through difficult challenges through her strong and affirmative faith in God.
Elizabeth Mkhondwane sees herself as a mother of the nation, nurturing and caring for everyone she encounters.
